"Remember - Jean Smith doesn’t want to come to your house and cut off your dick, she just wants to let you know what life can be like without one."
MECCA NORMAL review by wifey.tv Co-Founder REBECCA ODES
#YESALLWOMEN 23 years ago in…FORCED EXPOSURE #17 1991 (page 95)
Former Love Child member and Vermonster bassist REBECCA ODES ”has been making stuff for females on the internets since the internets were wee. She cofounded gURL.com, the first major web site for teenage girls and a proto-social network. Then she went old school and published a bunch of books, including the bestselling sex/life guide DEAL WITH IT! and FROM THE HIPS, a guide to the life-altering person-to-parent transformation. She has also enjoyed an extended tour of the world of Mommy media, writing, blogging and consulting for Babble. When she is not making things on screens or paper, Rebecca might be making some art, or clothing, or rock music, or just doing her best not to make her husband, son and daughter miserable. She lives in New York.”

Jean + David = MECCA NORMAL: "Arguably the greatest rock band without a rhythm section ever, the duo of acid-voiced singer Jean Smith and guitar hero David Lester must be seen to be believed.” - Douglas Wolk
New MECCA NORMAL LP due on M’Lady’s Records any minute now (September 2014, actually).

DAVID S. WARE review by John Corbett
Keeping up with John Corbett is no small task, as his contributions to jazz and outsider culture are significant.  We believe this is his first appearance here at Fuckin’ Record Reviews.
After a stint on Northern Exposure in the early 90’s and the opportunity to play Carrie Bradshaw's boyfriend on Sex and the City, he has done all kindsa cool stuff.
His most recent endeavor is CORBETT vs DEMPSEY, a gallery, bookstore and art space located 1120 North Ashland Avenue in the city of Chicago, Illinois.

RANCID HELL SPAWN reviews by PETER MARGASAK
Wrench Records sez: “Rancid Hell Spawn’s most recent release is a four-track EP called “Abolition Of The Orgasm” released in early 2012 (but dated 2011 on the label) - the band’s first release in 16 years. Rancid Hell Spawn are planning to release one (and ONLY one) more record before calling it a day. This will probably be an LP and will probably come out in mid to late 2014. “
